Zoombucks

Zoombucks is pretty good. Not as great as Swagbucks, but it has a leg up in certain areas.

What can you do on Zoombucks? Quite a bit. There are various things like surveys and Crowdflower offers. These are a YMMV type thing. You can randomly earn points for doing searches, which is always a nice feature. There is a offer wall with advertisements which you can skip and get a point for. There are games to play. My favorite offer is the HyperMX videos that come up. You can get 2 points for each one you complete, and you can do multiple ones throughout the day while you work. For multitaskers, this is a great way to earn points.

The rewards for all of this? Zoombucks has some descent ones. The typical Amazon, Wal-Mart, Target type cards. The best one though is the Paypal card. Why? Zoombucks, unlike other PTC sites, doesn’t require that you have to have a verified PP account. This is great for those of us who like Paypal but don’t actually trust it with our banky-yanky accounts. If you don’t really care about that though, the Amazon GC’s are pretty good deals.

As an aside, ZB is pretty trustworthy and I don’t really expect them to go away any time soon. However, with anything like this, you should investigate this yourself and see if it’s right for you and your family.

Swagbucks

The first PTC site that I’ll take a look at is Swagbucks. Swagbucks is the first PTC site that I started with, and at first I didn’t understand how to use it right. I easily grew frustrated and stopped using it for a year. Earlier this year I started back on it, and learned that using Swagbucks correctly can be fruitful.

The first thing to look at with Swagbucks is the amount of stuff to do. There are the requisite Crowdflower tasks and surveys. Both of these can either be useful or wastes of time depending on your own circumstances. I personally just ignore them. Searches are pretty easy ways to get points also The main ways to get far with SB is doing the Encrave activities and the video offers. If you can figure out the right way for you to work it, you can bring in some goodies.

About those goodies. With regards to PTC, don’t expect to live high on the hog through this. The best way to use your points is the 450 point $5 Amazon gift cards. Again, messing with SB in your spare time can get you a cool DVD or book from Amazon (or wherever else you chose). You won’t be able to supplement your income most likely, but it can help to bring in some fun goodies (or help out during Christmas).

As an aside, SB is pretty trustworthy and I don’t really expect them to go away any time soon. However, with anything like this, you should investigate this yourself and see if it’s right for you and your family.
